Martín Craciun (1980, Montevideo, Uruguay)
Curator, university professor, and researcher in the field of contemporary arts and culture. In 2025, he was appointed Coordinator of the National Institute of Visual Arts at the Ministry of Education and Culture of Uruguay. Between 2020 and 2025, he served as Chief Curator of SUBTE Montevideo and advisor to the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Montevideo. He was Artistic Advisor to the Cervieri Monsuarez Foundation (2022–2025). From 2003 to 2015, he was part of the artistic collective alonso+craciun. Co-director of AMORIR, a space for artistic, aesthetic, and political practices (2007–2008). Curator of the cultural program of the Este Arte fair in the 2016, 2017, and 2018 editions. Professor at the Catholic University of Uruguay (2011–2020) and at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of the Republic (2006–2010).
He was co-curator of the Uruguayan Pavilion at the 12th and 14th Venice Architecture Biennale (2010 and 2014). He represented Uruguay at the XII Havana Biennial (2015), the 7th and 11th Mercosur Biennials (2009 and 2018), was guest curator for Lisbon, Ibero-American Capital of Culture (2017), the XIII and XIV Biennial of Media Arts of Santiago de Chile (2016 and 2018), Contemporary Uruguayan Photography, Cervantes Institute, Rome (2019), among others.
