Sofia Insfrán
Bio
Sofia Insfrán was born in Asunción in 1995. She has been dedicated to painting for a little over a decade. In 2014, she entered the Instituto Superior de Bellas Artes de Asunción, where she earned a bachelor's degree. She is deeply involved in the city's emerging art scene through several self-managed projects such as Crudo and LaChispa. In addition to her artistic practice, she recently began training in audiovisual direction and production.
Statement
Sofia Insfrán is a Paraguayan painter born in 1995. Her work, which often combines abstraction and figuration, depicts mental states related to sensitivity and identity. Situated between science and fiction, her paintings are characterized by their own gestural language and are rooted in traumas that appear through faces or masks. The viewer is invited to experience a random and disordered journey through time and space. Shapes and colors give meaning to an inner world inhabited by a heightened sensitivity.
