Lucio Aquino

Bio

Lucio Aquino, an artist of Paraguayan nationality, was born in the city of Caacupé (1953-2009), becoming a Young Master of our Plastic Arts. He studied at the School of Fine Arts, learning restoration of Cultural Assets in Mexico and Architecture at the University of Austin, Texas, USA. Since 1976 he has held countless solo and group exhibitions expressing himself through drawing, painting, performance and dance.

Statement

“Solely Lucio” is called the last exhibition of his work. A bohemian life with total dedication to art. The work that he presented, of great size 3.18 x 1.28 meters, unifies all the facets of his creative work. Drawing, painting, dance and performance.
He presented the white canvas which we stretched on a special frame (because of its dimensions) in the gallery, and we hung it right there, feeling the immensity and uncertainty of what is to come. Classical music and putting on ballet shoes, brush and colors in hand, dancing was drawing what his “Creation” would be.
