Renatta Avila
Bio
Renatta Avila born in 1981, Asuncion Paraguay.
Bachelor of Visual Arts, National University of Asunción.
Since 1997 he exhibits in galleries, cultural centers in the country and abroad.
He received 3 1st Prizes in different Art contests. I participate in cultural exchanges in Italy, Trento. It was also mentioned in various painting competitions, such as the Henry Matisse in 2016.
He exhibited in New Orleans – USA, Galveston Texas – USA, Kansas – USA, Hamburg, Germany, Berlin, Germany, Lima, Peru, Argentina. In 2011, together with other artists, he exhibited in a traveling show throughout Europe for the bicentennial celebration.
He has also exhibited individually since 2009, exhibiting in different cultural centers in the country and member galleries of ASGAPA.
Since 2011 he has been a member of the Jury in the TOYOTA Dream Car Art Contest organized by Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyotoshi S.A.
Statement
I paint the idiosyncrasies; the identity of a people, of a region. it is the Mode of being that is characteristic of a person or thing and distinguishes it from others. Own or cultural, distinctive and peculiar character of an individual or a group
The presence of churches in my work is because they contain a sea of mysteries, from remote times, they keep a lot of history, they keep secrets, pains, emotions, joys, celebrations, confessions, they were and are the immediate identity of a people. They are located in the historic center of the town, not far away, but it is the center of the town, it is there where everything is celebrated, it is a meeting point. Because I perceive it as the channel with spirituality.
Fairies, nymphs... they symbolize fiction, the other dimension, a being of fables. It was part of childhood fantasy. The same with the nymphs, they are freshwater mermaids, as in my country we do not have salt water.
