Francene Keery

Bio

He was born New York City, 1950. His playground was international artistic culture. She lives in Paraguay since 2002, dedicated to the creation of artistic projects.
She read US Camera 1947 during her teens, realizing the emotional power photography had in portraying people and the everyday nature of her way of life. Her desire to want to learn from her great masters led her to study the photographic archives of MoMA (New York Museum of Modern Art), receiving an MFA/Photography from Antioch University in 1982.
She has photographed for the Village Voice, NY Times, NY Post, NY Times Magazine, Art Forum, Life, Film Culture in the United States, and for Wild and UNICEF in Paraguay. She has been honored with Polaroid Corporation, New York and Brooklyn Arts Councils, Ruth Chevron Foundation and Fulbright grants to photograph in Mexico.

Statement

He portrays people and everyday life. His long stay in Paraguay flooded his vision of nature.
